Obituary for Sally Wimsett

DANA-Sally Wimsett, 98, of Dana, Indiana passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the home of her granddaughter Crystal Thompson in Dana.

She was born March 10, 1920 in Centenary (Cedar Park), Indiana to the late Bill and Mary Shoppa Strimaitis.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Wimsett on September 12, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her son Mike Wimsett on January 18, 1970; her sisters Patricia Pitchkites, Margaret Sibul, Ann Bugni, and Betty Potter Alexander.

Survivors include her son Phil (Judy) Wimsett; three grandchildren, Dawn Wimsett, Brian Wimsett, and Crystal Thompson; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed attending church, her family, fishing, gardening, morel mushroom hunting and her pets (dogs and cats).

Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 21, at the Dana Community Bible Church, 200 N. Maple Street, Dana with her son, Phil Wimsett and the Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Scottland, Illinois. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Monday at the church.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Overpeck- Gooch Funeral Home, Dana.
