Obituary for John O. Dodson, Jr.

ST. BERNICE-John O. Dodson, Jr., 71, of St. Bernice, Indiana passed away at 7:33 pm Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the emergency room of Union Hospital in Clinton.

He was the owner of J & S Painting.

He was born May 12, 1946 at Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late John O. Dodson, Sr. and Betty Babb Dodson.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sue Hogue Dodson whom he married January 9, 1971 in Rockville; also surviving one son, Lance Dodson of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Amber (Kevan) Martin of Evansville; one sister, Vickey (Wayne) Weatherly of Carter, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jordan Dodson, Michael, Kody and Leslie Martin; one great-granddaughter, Eden Nicole Dodson.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a tank driver for the 11th Armored Cavalry. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid Cubs fan.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, February 2, at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home, 225 N. Maple Street, Dana, with the Rev. Larry Kelshiemer officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home.
