Obituary for Shirley Ann Hardesty

ROSEDALE- Shirley Ann Wright Hardesty, 84, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away at 6:15 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

She was a homemaker and in her early years employed by Bell Telephone Company in Terre Haute and was a secretary for the Fontanet School.

She was born August 14, 1933 in Coal Bluff, Indiana to the late Marion Wright and Florence Jacks Wright. Her husband of 60 years, Dale Lee Hardesty whom she married June 27, 1954 at Coal Bluff died December 30, 2014. Survivors include one daughter, Alice Alderson of Rosedale; one sister, Mary Ellen (Henry) Mayfield of Smyrna, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Lois Terrell of Cullman, Alabama; two grandsons, Jesse (Jess) Alderson of Weston, Nebraska and Clark (Lacy) Alderson of Rockville;

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jim Hardesty and Don Hardesty and sister, Norma Jean Seeders.

She was a 1951 graduate of Fontanet High School and avid reader.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 26, at Rosedale Cemetery with the Rev. Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow.

Memorials should friends so desire may be made to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society, PO Box 155, Clinton, IN 47842 in her memory.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, Rosedale.
