Obituary for William Bonner Swaim

ROCKVILLE-William B. “Bonner” Swaim, 82, of Rockville, Indiana passed away at 2:54 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was the retired owner of Swaim Construction in Rockville for 40 years. He was born December 10, 1936 in Rockville, Indiana to the late William Henry Swaim and Mary Frances Cox Swaim. His wife, Maxine Louise “Lou” Swaim whom he married November 1, 1985 preceded him in death July 14, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Dawn (Jeff) Thomas of Montezuma, Bill C. Swaim of Rockville, Judy (Tom) Herwer of Rockville, Teri (Charles) DeWitt of Temecula, California; step children, Ann (Randy) Hathaway of Veedersburg, Wendy (Robert Hannan) Robinson of Covington, James (Cathy) Trahan of Veedersburg, Jay (Carla) Trahan of Oxford and Jason (Audrina Allen) Trahan of Brazil and Ron Conrad of Westville, Illinois; one brother, David (Guyann) Swaim of Merion, Illinois; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Chris Conrad and step grandson, Layton Hathaway.

He was a graduate of Attica High School. He served with the Army Airborne 82nd and 101st divisions. He was a member of Indiana Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, American Legion Fellenzer post 48 and AMVETS post 61 both in Rockville. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed racing motorcycles and loved his dog’s.
