ROCKVILLE- Monty R. Black, 54 of Rockville died at 12:29 am Friday, April 7, 2006 in the emergency room of West Central Community Hospital in Clinton. He was the owner operator of Monty R. Black Trucking in Rockville. He was born April 9, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana to Tilmon E. Black and Uma Mae Nolen Black.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Diana McGrew Black, whom he married on March 10, 1979. Other survivors include his mother, Uma Mae Black of Rockville; four sons, Monty R. Black, Jr. and his wife Wendy of New Market, Jeffrey A. Black and his wife Becky of Rockville, Scott Brown and his wife Lori of Rockville and Dean Brown and his wife Debbie of Rockville; one daughter, Buffie Pratt and her husband Dennis of Rockville; one brother, Ronnie E. Black and his wife Becky of Rockville; three sisters, Louanna Chenhall of Frisco, TX, Cathy Lancaster and her husband Derek of Frisco, TX and Angela Hamilton and her husband Jerry of Plano, TX; ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1989.
He was also owner of Monty R. Black Pipeline Construction Company in Rockville and was later employed with Miller Pipeline Corporation in which he held a superintendent position. He was a member of the Rockville Christian Church, Parke Masonic Lodge #8 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 157 and Rockville Elks Lodge #2471. He held a position on the Rockville Town Council. In his free time, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and loved old cars.
Services are 1:00 pm, Monday, April 10, in the chapel of Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Lynn D. Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is 2-6 pm Sunday, April 9, in Gooch Funeral Home, and before services on Monday. A Masonic memorial service will be coducted a 5:30 pm Sunday evening.
