Obituary for Mildred Louise Crooks

ROCKVILLE Mildred Louise Crooks, 92, of Rockville, Indiana passed away at 4:20 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was a homemaker.

She was born September 6, 1925 in Lyford, Indiana to the late Bert Harris and Jenny Harris.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Edgar Dale Crooks whom she married April 7, 1949 in Clinton; also surviving, one daughter, Sandy (Jim) Appelhans of Rockville; two sons, Dennis Dale (Linda Kay) Crooks of Rockville and Darrel Dwayne (Judith Kay) Crooks of Rockville; special daughter, Rilee Findley of Franklin; one sister, Loretta Evitt of Hayward, California; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School. She was baptized at the Portland Mills Christian Church and later was a member of the Montezuma Christian Church later returning to the Portland Mills Christian Church. She was active in church all her life and Montezuma Order of the Eastern Star 537 where she served a Worthy Matron.

Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 21, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with the Revs. Greg Goodrick and Carl Huxford officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, North of Hollandsburg. Visitation is 12 noon until 2:00 pm Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
